Anjali Lathi

Anjali Lathi was appointed to the Board in 2002, elected in 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024 to represent the City of Fremont. She served as President of the Board in 2006, 2010, 2013, 2018, and 2022. Her term expires in 2028. She is a member of the Legal/Community Affairs and Personnel Committees, and the District's alternate representative to the East Bay Dischargers Authority.
During her many years of residence in Fremont, Ms. Lathi's public service and leadership has included volunteering for the SYDA Fremont Center, LIFE Elder Care Meals on Wheels, Fremont Cultural Arts Council, Mission Peak Universalist Congregation, and the Hindu American Foundation.
At Union Sanitary District, the Tri-Cities' award winning wastewater agency, Ms. Lathi has served on all Board Committees. She's previously also served for several years as the Board's representative to the East Bay Dischargers Authority. Ms. Lathi was one of the first to receive recognition in Special District Governance, awarded by the Special District Leadership Foundation for dedication to providing the best services to a local community.
Ms. Lathi earned both her Bachelor's degree in Economics and her law degree from the University of California at Davis. She is an inactive member of the California State Bar, having worked in the public sector as a deputy district attorney, and in the private sector as defense counsel for school/community college districts, and later as a project manager at a community bank.
Her priorities are to ensure that USD's rates continue to remain among the lowest of 30 surveyed Bay Area agencies, and support to staff so they can continue their tradition of excellence in serving USD's constituents.
